Construction of the Cross-country Skiing and Biathlon Center in Szklarska Poręba - Jakuszyce. This is the first investment in public procurement in Poland in which the BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology has been applied so comprehensively. This methodology is present at all stages of DCS implementation: from design, through construction works, to operation. Modern buildings will include swimming pool, Sports and Tourism Museum, wellness center with gym, gymnasium for training for volleyball and basketball players, hotel with 190 places, including 38 hotel rooms with hypoxic chambers. Training in a hypoxic chamber imitates the conditions of altitude training with low oxygen saturation of air. Thanks to this, athletes improve their efficiency without the need for long journeys to high mountains. The building is complemented by conference and catering facilities and an underground car park for over 140 cars. The investment also provides for the construction of bicycle paths, roller skates, cross-country and biathlon routes with a shooting range and a football pitch with an athletics track. A large ski rental in winter and a bicycle rental in summer are planned in the vicinity. Due to the location of the railway line directly at Polana Jakuszycka, the facility also serves as a railway station by integrating the railway platform with the building and the location of rooms for rail traffic in the main hall.
