DESIGNING IS OUR TRADITION
The company Miastoprojekt Wrocław was established in 1949 as a state-owned enterprise. It was under its roof, on the drawing boards of outstanding architects, that designs for famous buildings in Lower Silesia were created. The headquarters at the Market Square at that time were a breeding ground for design staff for the entire region.
What were the beginnings like? Most of Wrocław was destroyed after World War II. In order to restore the necessary buildings, the city authorities decided to combine two action models: building modern facilities and reconstruction of damaged monuments. And so, in 1949, an enterprise was established to carry out the task: Miastoprojekt Wrocław. The staff consisted of a group of talented experts, members of the Association of Polish Architects and winners of many awards in the field of architecture, and the team's leading task was to design construction investments. Examples of realizations from those years include both residential and service buildings at Wita Stwosza and Łaciarska Streets, the extension of Wrocław's showpiece at that time - Nowy Targ Square, and the reconstruction of the historic Psie Budy Street and the Kamienica Pod Złotym Jeleniem house located on the Market Square at number 44. Miastoprojekt Wrocław, which is particularly worth paying attention to, is the complicated reconstruction of the medieval church and monastery complex of the Bernardines, which now houses the Museum of Architecture.
WHERE FROM THIS INNOVATION?
Today, Miastoprojekt Wrocław continues the tradition of a company offering its clients modern technologies in the field of design and investment management. A special place in the history of our activity is occupied by cooperation with ELWRO - the main manufacturer of digital devices in the country, thanks to which Miastoprojekt had contributed to the development of digitization in Poland at the beginning of the 1970s. In 1972, ELWRO grew into a leading IT company.
In order to meet the next upcoming challenges in its own style, i.e. the implementation of the project in an innovative formula, ELWRO decided to build modern workplaces that would attract attention in those gray times. It was our specialists who developed the designs of two computing centers and complete laboratory equipment, providing technological and organizational projects as well as technical and economic assumptions for their operation. In 1988, in response to the dynamically changing market needs, the CADsystem Miastoprojekt Company was established, which, apart from the current design activities, offered new services in the field of IT-aided design. In the spring of 1989, the Company presented the RoBoCad system to representatives of the design industry. In the following years, methods and systems were developed, extending the scope of their application for subsequent stages of construction projects.
MIASTOPROJEKT AFTER 1989
Along with the development of system solutions, the specialization in design has gradually been expanded to include the management and implementation of construction investments in all sectors. Thanks to our own system solutions, orders were carried out in an innovative way, setting new standards on the market. The company's representatives noticed the new opportunities created by the development of the Internet very early on. Already in 1998, the first IT system that has the functionality of today's CDE platform was developed and implemented. At that time, Miastoprojekt was heavily involved in the activities of the Chamber of Construction Designers for running the Database Center and the IPB website. After several decades of functioning as a state-owned enterprise, while Poland is undergoing systemic changes, Miastoprojekt Wrocław becomes a private company. The consequence of the privatization was a number of organizational changes in the structure of the company, but also an opportunity for new directions of development, as well as the possibility of executing orders for a wide range of clients. In the following years, using the developed solutions, knowledge and experience of our specialists we have successfully managed the implementation of investments throughout Poland: the Terma Bania water park in Białka Tatrzańska, the Tauron Network Management Center in Kraków and Wrocław or the expansion of glassworks Guardian in Częstochowa and many others.

The year 2022, when the global and domestic situation was determined by the outbreak of war in Ukraine, the energy crisis, the sharp increase in the prices of products and services, is another important moment in the history of our company. When many entities are faced with serious dilemmas about how to continue operating in the market, the Management Board of Miastoprojekt Wroclaw is focused on the future of the company thinking about the new needs of customers. Based on experience and the position built so far, the Company is once again focusing on development by deciding to create a new area of activity - Miastoprojekt ENERGY, within which it will offer customers comprehensive solutions in the field of construction of RES sources along with energy storage, improvement of energy efficiency of buildings and processes and management of utility consumption.
