Expansion of the Silesian Center for Heart Diseases

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Expansion of the Silesian Center for Heart Diseases in Zabrze (module C), establishment of a national clinical and scientific center for lung and heart transplantation and treatment of cystic fibrosis in children. As part of the project, the hospital was extended by a four-story module C, connected on the third floor with building B. In the new space, activities were developed, among others. operating theater, intensive care unit, transplantation unit, cardiosurgery unit, blood bank and transfusion serology laboratory, computed tomography laboratory, laboratory for invasive diagnostics and treatment of lung diseases, central sterilization. The usable area is about 8.500 m2. Project co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund under Measure 12.2 - Investments in healthcare infrastructure of supra-regional importance, priority XII - Health safety and improvement of the health care system efficiency of the Infrastructure and Environment 2007-2013 Operational Program.

ABOUT INVESTOR:

The Silesian Heart Disease Center in Zabrze is a modern, highly specialized clinical and scientific training center that performs modern diagnostic and therapy of cardiovascular diseases for adults and children, basic clinical and implementation studies and pre- and post-graduate training of students and doctors. The Silesian Heart Disease Center also carries out research and development activities. Research is conducted in cardiology, cardiac surgery, transplantology, diabetes, but also in basic sciences.
